Revamp of the Blue Peter Program During the Award Ceremony
- The Blue Peter program will feature a new host, Hacker T Dog.
- Anthea Turner received a Blue Peter gold badge after 31 years.
- The program is changing its format from previously recorded episodes.
The program Blue Peter, known for its history, has received a new look and format. The premiere of the revamped version will take place on September 5, 2025, on CBBC and BBC iPlayer. In the new episode of the program, a new host will appear - the puppet Hacker T Dog, who becomes the first non-human host in the program.
The revamp includes a relocation to a new venue in the center of Manchester, as well as changes to the format with live broadcasts instead of previously recorded episodes. These changes are aimed at adapting the program to the current viewing habits of audiences who prioritize on-demand content.
During the celebration of the changes, presenter Anthea Turner, who worked on Blue Peter from 1992 to 1994, received a Blue Peter gold badge. This award was presented to her by former presenters of the program, including Hacker T Dog, as a recognition of her contribution to inspiring children.
Turner expressed her delight, stating that this badge has been her dream for many years. She created one of the most memorable moments of the program, teaching viewers how to make a model of Tracy Island from "Thunderbirds."
The new version of the program will include more street shoots across the UK and a dynamic pace that better reflects the style of content that children consume today. Many former presenters of the program support these changes, emphasizing the importance of adapting to new circumstances.
