Zelensky appoints Olha Stefanishyna as Ukraine's ambassador to the USA

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the appointment of Olha Stefanishyna as the new ambassador of Ukraine to the United States of America.
Zelensky announced this in his evening address. He noted that the formal procedures have already been completed and highlighted key tasks for the ambassador's work.
The main method is the implementation of all agreements reached during negotiations in Washington with President Trump, particularly in the field of defense. During this process, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine's long-term security depends on relations with the USA.
He also stated that currently there are two important proposals for the USA on the agenda: an agreement on arms supplies for Ukraine and an agreement on current air defense for the United States. Kyiv is counting on quick progress in relations with Washington.
The president thanked Oksana Markarova, who represented Ukraine in Washington for the last few years, for her work and requested her to remain in the team.
Olha Stefanishyna
Olha Stefanishyna was born on July 29, 1985, in Odesa. She graduated from the Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, obtaining a master's degree in international law.
Stefanishyna has experience working in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, and she also served as the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration.
