Rybakina Reaches WTA Finals Final After Victory Over Pegula

Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, has reached the WTA Finals for the first time, having defeated Jessica Pegula with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals, which took place on November 7, 2025, in Er-Riyad, Saudi Arabia.
Rybakina, who progressed through the group stage without losses, started with 15 aces in the match, which became a decisive factor in her victory. "It wasn't easy, but I'm glad I managed to find my way in the match," Rybakina noted after the game.
In the other semifinal, world number one Aryna Sabalenka defeated Amanda Anisimova with a score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Sabalenka believes that this match served as a great preparation for the final against Rybakina. Both players possess powerful shots, which promises an exciting final.
The WTA Finals final will take place at the Saudi University Stadium in Er-Riyad, where Rybakina and Sabalenka will compete for a prize of $5.3 million, the largest in women's tennis history.
