- K-pop received nominations in major categories.

In New York, the nominees for the 2026 Grammy Awards were announced, where Candrick Lamar leads with nine nominations for the album "GNX". Ledi Gaga also received seven nominations, including the most prestigious award — Album of the Year for "Mayhem". K-pop received its first nomination in the Best New Artist category, including for the song "APT" by Rozi and "Golden" from KPop Demon Hunters.
This year, three albums in the rap genre are nominated for Album of the Year: "GNX", "Let God Sort Em Out" by Clipse, and "Chromakopia" by Tyler, Creator. This is the first time in Grammy history that three rap albums are competing for this award.
Additionally, Rozi became the first solo artist from K-pop to receive a nomination at the Grammys. Her song "APT" was also nominated for Best New Artist. KPop Demon Hunters, in turn, received three nominations, including Song of the Year for "Golden", which became a significant achievement for the genre.
Changes in Categories
In 2026, there were changes in the categories, including the introduction of a new category for traditional country albums. It is still unclear how these categories will differ from one another.
Among the other nominees is Bad Bunny with the album "Debí Tirar Más Fotos", which also received a nomination for Album of the Year. This is only the second Spanish-language album nominated in this category.
The Grammy Awards will take place on February 1, 2026, in Los Angeles.
