The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Rustem Umerov held negotiations with the high representative of the EU, Kaja Kallas, regarding the priorities of military and civilian support for Ukraine in 2026. According to information from Ukrinform, Umerov reported on the results of the negotiations on his Facebook.

"We discussed key strategic areas of cooperation," Umerov noted. He also expressed hope for future meetings with Kallas.

Kallas emphasized that Ukraine is already participating in EU projects aimed at strengthening defense industry. This will facilitate Ukraine's integration into the European Union.

In addition, Umerov discussed with European Commissioner for Defense, Andrea Kubilius, the financing of the Deep Strike program and the mechanisms of SAFE loans, which will also help strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities. According to him, the parties focused on Ukraine's experience in countering drones, which remains relevant for Europe.

"We are working together to transform practical developments into a common European force, capable of effectively responding to new threats," he added.
