Captain of the Buffalo Sabres Rasmus Dahlin is temporarily staying with the team to support his fiancée, Karolina Matovac, who is undergoing rehabilitation after a heart transplant.

Meanwhile, during his absence in France, Matovac described herself as feeling bad and unexpectedly suffered a cardiac arrest. She was given thermal assistance, and after that, she was transferred to a hospital, where she underwent heart transplantation. Currently, she is recovering in Sweden.

The head coach of the team, Lindy Ruff, stated that Dahlin receives all the necessary support from the team. He also noted that there are no clear timelines for Dahlin's return to the ice.

Dahlin, who is 25 years old, is currently on his second year of the captaincy of the team and signed a contract for eight years worth $88 million. This season, he has scored nine points in 14 games, although it has been difficult for him to focus on the game due to the situation with his fiancée.

Ruff emphasized that personal and family issues always take priority over hockey matters. "Hockey is our job, but family and personal life will always come first," he said.
