At 7 feet 9 inches (236 cm), Oliver Rioux, who is the tallest teenager in the world, became the tallest player in college basketball history, debuting for the Florida Gators on November 7, 2025. His entry onto the court was a memorable moment during the game against North Florida, where his team won 104-64.

Rioux, a 19-year-old Canadian player, stepped onto the court for two minutes before the end of the game, during which the announcers mentioned his name. Coach Todd Golden decided to give him a chance, regardless of the fact that Rioux could not handle the ball during his short stint on the court.

Rioux, who previously appeared in the Guinness World Records as the tallest teenager, has grown from his previous heights, starting at 5 feet 2 inches in childhood and reaching 7 feet by age 12. His parents also have notable heights: his father is 6 feet 8 inches, and his mother is 6 feet 1 inch.
