Ukrainian Armed Forces are fighting for control over Pokrovsk

The battle for Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast of Ukraine has reached a critical stage. Russian and Ukrainian forces are conducting fierce battles, striving to control individual residential buildings.
The situation in the city remains tense, as Russian forces are trying to capture Pokrovsk. According to the words of the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrii Koval, the enemy is trying to create conditions for a complete encirclement.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the main goal of the Russians is the rapid capture of Pokrovsk, which has strategic importance for further advancement in the Donbas region. He reported that since November 5, the enemy has carried out 220 attacks on the city, using heavy equipment.
Russian troops control over 70% of the territory of Pokrovsk, which is confirmed by experts and Ukrainian commanders. Zelensky noted that the situation is complicated, but Ukrainian forces continue to defend the city.
In response to the attack, Ukraine has involved its elite units for the defense. They are conducting street-by-street operations, and Ukrainian forces are trying to stop the enemy's advance.
Currently, Pokrovsk has become not only a battlefield for the territory but also an important element in Ukraine's diplomatic efforts, especially since both sides are trying to persuade the USA to intervene in the conflict.
