Barcelona returns to the modernized Camp Nou stadium
- Fans saw the team at Camp Nou for the first time in two years.
- The stadium is not yet completed, but the opening took place during training.
- The club plans to return to matches at the stadium by the end of November.
On November 7, 2025, Barcelona held the opening training session at the partially renovated Camp Nou stadium. This event marked the first public event at the stadium after its closure for renovation for more than two years. Nearly 23,000 fans watched the training session, which became an important moment for the club, which has not played at its legendary stadium since the summer of 2023.
The stadium renovation, the cost of which amounts to 1.25 billion euros, began in June 2023 with the aim of increasing capacity to 105,000 spectators. The club hopes to resume matches at Camp Nou by the end of November, while the remaining work is scheduled to be completed by 2027.
Club president Joan Laporta noted that the team initially planned to return to the stadium by November 2024, but deadlines have been repeatedly postponed. At the moment, the club has a license for 25,991 spectators, but is awaiting new permits to increase the capacity to 45,000.
The stadium opening took place during the team's training ahead of the La Liga match against Celta Vigo, which will take place in the coming days. While the work is still ongoing, fans have already expressed joy at returning to their stadium, which means a lot to them.
