The European Investment Bank (EIB) is allocating 100 million euros to support economic resilience and critical heating infrastructure in Ukraine. Of this amount, 70 million euros will be directed to Ukrgasbank to support Ukrainian businesses and create new jobs during the war, as well as for investments in energy efficiency.

30 million euros will be used for the repair and modernization of centralized heating systems through state banks Ukrgasbank and Ukreximbank. This will ensure reliable heating supply to households during the winter.

Funding is part of the "Fund for Ukraine" and "Investment Program for Ukraine," which include a total financial assistance package of 50 billion euros for Ukraine. This underlines the EU's commitment to supporting the recovery and stability of Ukraine.

According to the press release, 70 million euros has already been transferred to Ukrgasbank as part of a credit package of 400 million euros, aimed at strengthening Ukraine's economic stability. The funding will also help reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and increase energy efficiency.

Funds will be provided to municipalities and communal enterprises for the repair and modernization of heating systems, improving energy efficiency in public buildings, implementing renewable energy sources, and restoring facilities affected by Russian attacks.

In line with the information, this funding is provided within the EU's support framework for Ukraine during this critical time, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the economy and the ability of communities to maintain heating and essential state services.
