Trump announced a boycott of the G20 summit in Southern Africa due to farmers
- Trump announced a boycott of the G20 summit due to the situation with farmers.
- The Vice President of the USA also will not attend the summit in Southern Africa.
- The government of Southern Africa is dismissing allegations of discrimination.
President of the USA Donald Trump announced on Friday that no representative of the USA will attend the G20 summit, which will take place in Southern Africa. He emphasized this decision, referring to the circumstances that have escalated regarding white farmers in the country.
Trump has previously stated that he would not participate in the event. Vice President Jay D. Vance was supposed to replace Trump, but, according to the spokesperson, Vance also declined the invitation.
In his message on social media, Trump noted that "this is a total shame that the G20 is taking place in Southern Africa." He asserts that Africans are becoming victims of racism, and their land and farms are being illegally confiscated.
On the other hand, the government of Southern Africa denies these allegations, asserting that they do not respond to the claims. Throughout this year, Trump has repeatedly expressed himself about what is called the genocide of white farmers, although many officials and observers dismiss these claims.
It is noteworthy that at the beginning of the year, the number of murders on farms in Southern Africa does not confirm the version of genocide: out of six victims, five were black. According to court data, allegations of genocide were recognized as "obviously fabricated."
In addition, Trump plans to hold the upcoming G20 summit in 2026 in his golf resort in Miami.
