Purdy, who has not played for six weeks, may be ready for a backup role, but head coach Kyle Shanahan stated that a decision regarding his participation in the match will be made on Saturday. "He’s not quite ready to start, but he’s making progress," said Shanahan.

Jones has a record of 5-2 as a starter, throwing for 1,832 yards with 10 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He has demonstrated good play, helping the team remain in the fight for the title in the division.
