Changes in the Rams' Roster: Mevis Becomes the Main Kicker
- Garrett Mevis replaces Joshua Karty as the kicker
- The Rams have a positive balance of 6-2, but problems with field goals
- Changes in the roster are related to the low effectiveness of the kickers
Los Angeles Rams have decided to change their kicker before an important game against the San Francisco 49ers. Although the team has a positive balance of 6-2, issues with the execution of field goals significantly hindered their game. On November 10, 2025, Garrett Mevis, who will replace Joshua Karty, will take the field. Karty has already missed all field goals this season, including five field goals and three extra points.
Mevis, who joined the Rams this week, previously played in the United Football League, where he converted 20 out of 21 attempts. He is known for his long kicks, having set records in college, including for the most field goals from 50 yards and beyond.
The team also changed their long snapper: the new one is Jake McQuaid, who previously played for the Rams. Changes in the team are related to the low results of the kickers, which hindered the team from winning matches, including through blocked kicks and missed attempts.
Head coach Sean McVay noted that the team will monitor Mevis's progress and possibly continue with him, should he prove himself on the field.
