Fiorentina has appointed Paolo Vanoli as the new coach

  • Paolo Vanoli has become the new coach of Fiorentina until 2026
  • The team is looking forward to improving results in Serie A
  • Vanoli's first match will be against Genoa this weekend

This is reported by L'Équipe, Terrikon.

Fiorentina has announced the appointment of Paolo Vanoli as the new head coach. The contract is signed until the end of the 2025-26 season, with the possibility of extension for another year.

Vanoli returns to the club where he previously played from 2000 to 2002, and he also has experience working with teams such as Torino, Venezia, and Spartak Moscow. His predecessor, Stefano Pioli, left the position after ten matches without a win in Serie A, leaving Fiorentina at the bottom of the table.

Vanoli aims to lift the team from the last place, as they have only four draws and six losses in ten matches this season. The first match under his leadership will be against Genoa, who are two points above in the table.

Fiorentina will also continue to compete in the Conference League, where the team has suffered two losses in the finals, so Vanoli will be working under pressure during some matches.

Vanoli's first training session will take place on Friday, but already this weekend the team will play away against Genoa, who occupy 16th place in the table.
