MILWAUKEE (AP) — On Friday night, the "Milwaukee Bucks" began their quest for the NBA Cup title, defeating the "Chicago Bulls" by a score of 126-110. Bucks player Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 41 points, made 15 rebounds, and provided 9 assists.
The "Bucks" improved their record to 9-0 in the group stage of the NBA Cup over the past three years. In previous seasons, the team reached the semifinals of the "Indiana" and won in the "Oklahoma City" in the finals.
Antetokounmpo scored 19 points in the fourth quarter, helping the "Bucks" pull ahead. He made 16 of 32 shots, which became the first occurrence this season where his shooting percentage dropped below 61.5%.
Malik Beasley also stood out, scoring 23 points, while Ryan Rollins added 20 points. In the Bulls' lineup, Matias Buzelisi scored 20 points, and Josh Giddey had 16 points, 14 assists, and 7 rebounds.
Giddey became the first "Bulls" player to achieve a triple-double in two consecutive games since Michael Jordan in April 1989.
The "Bucks" took the lead in the third quarter, achieving a score of 8-0, which allowed them to extend their lead to 112-99 four minutes before the end of the game.
The team played without Taurean Prince, who suffered a thigh injury. However, Yo Dosunmu returned to the "Bulls" lineup after an ankle injury, scoring 7 points.
