Exhibitions of the Zapakhis Unite Art and Cultural Heritage

  • Francis Kurkdjian celebrates 30 years of creativity with a new exhibition in Paris.
  • The exhibition in Düsseldorf unites the Zapakhis with a millennia-old cultural history.
  • Zapakhis evoke emotions, allowing for new experiences in art.

In Paris and Düsseldorf, two exhibitions dedicated to the Zapakhis unite art, history, and emotions. The first of them, "Perfume, the Sculpture of the Invisible", runs at the Palais de Tokyo until November 23, 2025. The exhibition celebrates the 30th anniversary of the perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. It invites visitors to immerse themselves in the world of aromas through interactive installations that connect the Zapakhis with music and art.

Kurkdjian believes that perfume is "the sculpture of the invisible," which allows one to express beauty, time, and space. In his work, he strives to convey emotions, using aroma as a language.

The second exhibition, "Secret Power of the Zapakhis", opens on January 29, 2025, at Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf. It presents 81 Zapakhis, which encompass over a thousand years of cultural history. Visitors can explore aromas related to war, love, and religion, and also familiarize themselves with art through the Zapakhis.

The curator of the exhibition points out that the Zapakhis evoke strong emotional reactions, making this exhibition unique. For example, in the gallery dedicated to wars, the aroma recalls the horrors of battle. Meanwhile, in the hall dedicated to romantic themes, the aromas of Troy resonate.
