Chapel Hill, North Carolina — The University of North Carolina (UNC) achieved a significant victory over the University of Kansas in a match that took place on November 7, 2025. After a recent timeout, during which UNC trailed by 10 points, the team showed impressive play in the second half, scoring 58 points.
First-year player Caleb Wilson stood out in the match, scoring 24 points, while transfer from Arizona player Anri Visar added 20 points. Senior player Set Trimble, who also played an important role in the second half, scored 17 points, of which 13 were after the break.
After the timeout, UNC converted 18 of 23 free throws, allowing them to take control of the game. This was UNC's first victory over Kansas since November 2002, ending a series of five losses against this powerhouse.
Head coach Hubert Davis noted that this victory confirms his vision for improving the team's composition, following how last season UNC made it to the NCAA tournament. "This gives the team confidence in their abilities for the rest of the season," he said.
UNC's next opponent will be the Redford team, while Kansas will play against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on November 10.
