North Korea plans to act more aggressively in response to the negotiations between South Korea and the US. The DPRK's foreign minister, No Kwan Chol, stated that the country is preparing "offensive actions" in response to threats related to security.
In his statement, published by state media, he noted that the presence of American nuclear aviation near the port of Busan increases tensions in the Korean Peninsula. This occurred against the backdrop of joint military exercises between the US and South Korea.
He also revealed that the joint statement of the US and South Korean defense ministers about demilitarized zones, calling them "open manifestations of hostile nature" of the allies. He emphasized that the DPRK lives under threats from the West for ensuring security and peace.
These threats echo the recent launch of a ballistic missile by North Korea into the Sea of Japan, which was a response to the new US sanctions against individuals related to cybercrime. North Korea condemned this launch, calling it a provocation.
Meanwhile, the US command in the Indo-Pacific region stated that the recent missile launch does not pose a threat to the US or its allies, but emphasized the destabilizing influence of North Korea's actions.
