In BIRMINGHAM, the woman was reported to be in critical condition after she was stabbed in the thigh as a result, which the police consider to be a "targeted attack".
The West Midlands police received reports of the stabbing on Smallbrook Queensway around 9:00 PM on Friday. The victim, who is in her 30s, was left with "serious stab wounds", and she is still recovering in the hospital.
The authorities arrested a man in his 20s not far from the scene of the incident, and he is currently in custody.
Detective Inspector James Nix stated that they believe this to be a "targeted attack" and are seeking to clarify why this occurred. "We will have officers in the area today to continue our investigation and provide reassurance," he added.
The police have closed off the area and anyone with information is urged to contact them via telephone at 101, quoting log 5503 from 7 October.
