Julián Álvarez is the attacking leader of Atlético Madrid and an important player in Diego Simeone's team. This season he has scored nine goals in La Liga and the Champions League, of which seven are in the national championship, helping his team in the hunt for the Pichichi trophy.

In an interview with L'Équipe, Álvarez shares about his path in football, starting from his native Argentina, through England to Atlético, where he has become one of the best forwards in the world. As a child, he went through a selection at Real Madrid, but he believes that this was not the best time for him to move to Europe.

Álvarez also emphasizes that in modern football it is rare to find a forward who is 1.70 meters tall. He always competes with taller players due to his height, but knows his strong side: "I can play in different positions, these things never bothered me".

He also distinguishes himself from many of his colleagues, abstaining from tattoos: "My father always said: 'No tattoos, no alcohol'". Álvarez prefers to spend time at home with family, where he feels most comfortable.
