Tornado in Brazil Claims the Lives of Six People

In the southern state of Brazil, a tornado with speeds exceeding 250 km/h struck the city of Rio Bonito do Igarassu on Friday evening. According to state officials, six people died, including a 14-year-old girl. Approximately 437 people received medical assistance, with 10 individuals undergoing emergency surgeries, while nine remain in critical condition.

The tornado caused significant destruction: many buildings were destroyed, and several essential structural facilities were also damaged. Nearly 1,000 people were forced to leave their homes. Roads are blocked, and electrical supply in the region is disrupted.

The government has declared a state of emergency in the affected area. The Minister of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann, plans to send aid to the region for recovery efforts. President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, expressed condolences to the families of the victims through social media.
