The crisis situation at Nexperia, a chip manufacturer from China, has caused a significant disruption in the automotive industry. When the Dutch government announced control over Nexperia due to national security concerns, this led to a blockage of chip exports, which severely impacted automobile manufacturing.

In July, the Dutch government activated legislation that allows control over Nexperia due to serious management problems. Nexperia produces simple semiconductors that are critically important for automotive systems. Due to the crisis, many automobile companies, including Honda, are forced to halt production.

As a result of the actions of the Dutch government, China blocked the export of chips from Nexperia, which triggered a three-month halt among automobile manufacturers. However, recently Chinese authorities confirmed partial suspension of chip exports, which ensured some relief in the situation. According to the European Commissioner for Trade, Valdis Dombrovskis, chip exports will be allowed for civilian use.

Thus, Nexperia continues to work on the lifted export restrictions, while the automotive industry hopes for a quick resolution of the problems.
