Max Verstappen fails to qualify for the Brazilian Grand Prix
- Verstappen finished 16th in qualifying in Brazil.
- Lando Norris secured pole position and continues his fight for the title.
- Both Red Bull drivers did not make it past Q1 for the first time since 2006.
Max Verstappen did not qualify for the Brazilian Grand Prix, finishing 16th after being eliminated in the early stages. This is the first time in Verstappen's career that he has failed to qualify through Q1 due to a lack of speed, as all his previous exits from this stage have been due to mechanical issues.
In qualifying, which took place on November 8, 2025, Verstappen expressed his dissatisfaction with the car's condition, stating that he felt it lacked sufficient downforce and grip. His Red Bull team attempted to make changes to the car's setup, but this did not yield the desired results, and both Red Bull drivers, including Yuki Tsunoda, were eliminated in Q1.
At the same time, Lando Norris secured pole position, continuing his battle for the championship title. He won the sprint and now has a chance to extend his lead over reigning champion Oscar Piastri, who finished fourth. Norris has a nineteen-point lead over Piastri and a thirty-point lead over Verstappen.
The race will take place on November 9 at 17:00 local time, broadcasted on Sky Sports F1.
