Drone Strikes the Bar on the Island of Lidingö Where the Russian Trade Delegation is Located in Sweden

STOCKHOLM — Early on Saturday, November 8, a drone flew over the area of the Russian trade delegation on the island of Lidingö and struck the bar with an unknown sticky substance on the building, the police reported.

According to Ola Österling, spokesperson for the regional police of Stockholm, they did not patrol the island, and the area was not evacuated.

Employees of the trade delegation noticed the drone when it struck the container with the bar and an unknown substance around 5:30 AM local time. After this, they called the police.

Law enforcement took samples of this substance for analysis and opened a case regarding the fact of vandalism and the subsequent damage, noted Österling. The police did not see the drone, but they questioned witnesses of the incident.

The island of Lidingö is home to foreign embassies and their accompanying offices and residences, such as the Russian trade delegation, Österling reported.
