San Diego FC, a new team in MLS, secured victory over Minnesota United with a score of 1-0 in the semifinals of the Western Conference, which took place on Monday evening at Snapdragon Stadium. The winning goal was scored by Andres Dreyer in the 72nd minute, capitalizing on an assist from Kora Bayard and Yippe Tverskova.
This victory allowed San Diego to advance to the finals of the Western Conference, where the team will face Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday. During the match, goalkeeper Pablo Cisneros made three saves, including a stunning one in the 64th minute, which helped the team maintain a clean sheet.
This was the second consecutive defeat for Minnesota United in conference semifinals. The team was unable to capitalize on any opportunities, and their goalkeeper, Dane St. Clair, did not make a single save throughout the match.
San Diego FC, under the guidance of head coach Miki Varasa, set records for newcomers in MLS, achieving 19 victories and accumulating 63 points for the season.
