The Government of Thailand Organizes Aid After Severe Floods

  • Severe floods in Thailand have claimed the lives of 19 people
  • The airline "Chakri Naruebet" is being dispatched with aid
  • The situation in neighboring Malaysia also remains critical

In southern Thailand, heavy rains continue, which have been described as the worst in many years. According to reports, water levels have reached up to 2.5 meters in the city of Hat Yai, where roads and buildings are submerged. According to the Ministry of Health, as a result of the floods, at least 19 people have died, mostly due to electric shock injuries and drowning incidents.

The local government is preparing to dispatch the airline "Chakri Naruebet" with humanitarian aid and medical teams to the affected areas. This airline can accommodate up to 3000 patients daily.

As of November 25, 2025, floods have already affected 9 provinces of Thailand, as well as several states of neighboring Malaysia, where over 18,500 people have been forced to evacuate to shelters. In the city of Hat Yai, which has become the epicenter of the flooding disaster, a record 335 mm of rainfall was recorded in one day, the highest in three decades.

Rescue teams are working on the evacuation of people who need assistance. According to volunteers, thousands of people have reached out for help, reporting about missing individuals and water levels.

In Malaysia, flooding incidents have also been recorded, but without casualties. The government has urged people to follow evacuation instructions and remain safe, as the situation may worsen.
