In Jerusalem, the humanitarian organization, supported by the USA and Israel, Gaza Humanitarian Fund, announced the closure of its operations after six weeks, as was previously announced about the ceasefire. This organization was created to distribute aid in Gaza, however, many Palestinians claimed that it put the lives of civilians at risk.
The fund closed its distribution points after the start of the ceasefire, which was established under the mediation of the USA. The director of the GHF, John Acri, stated that the organization fulfilled its mission, delivering over 3 million food packages for the population. However, the distribution system caused complications due to logistics, which were not suitable for people who needed to get to the points.
Simultaneously with the fund's closure, Israeli forces continued operations in Gaza, killing three Palestinians as a result of shelling on Monday. These incidents again emphasize the difficulties of achieving a stable peace, especially as Israeli troops claim they fired in response to threats to their soldiers.
Since the beginning of the ceasefire, which was established between Hamas and Israel, both sides have accused each other of violating the agreements. It has been noted that since the start of the ceasefire, as a result of Israeli fire, at least 342 Palestinians have been killed, including three Israeli soldiers killed in response to fire from militants.
Conflict and Peace Negotiations
Negotiations regarding further stages of the ceasefire are ongoing. The Hamas delegation is conducting negotiations with Egyptian officials. Along with the reported information, the path to the next stage of the ceasefire is complicated due to violations from the Israeli side. Both sides are also discussing the issue of international forces' presence, which should generally control the situation in Gaza.
Experts note that the implementation of the peace plan, proposed by former President Donald Trump, requires the reform of the Palestinian autonomy and the establishment of a technocratic government in Gaza. However, achieving an agreement regarding the presence and mandate of international forces is a complicated issue.
