Increase in gasoline prices during the Trump administration

  • The average price of gasoline rose to $3.07 per gallon.
  • 60% of Americans do not believe that gasoline prices will decrease.
  • 28 states have prices below $3 per gallon.

The national average price of gasoline in the U.S. reached $3.07 per gallon, which is a slight increase compared to last year. This marks the first instance when prices in 2025 are expected to be higher than in 2024, according to AAA data.

Gasoline prices remain relatively low compared to historical indicators, showing a change in pricing trends. For most of this year, gasoline prices have been lower by 30-50 cents per gallon compared to last year. It is noted that 60% of Americans believe that Trump's rhetoric regarding prices does not match reality.

Currently, in 28 states, the average price of gasoline is less than $3, particularly in Oklahoma, where the prices are the lowest at $2.50 per gallon. The reduction in prices is partly related to the decrease in the cost of crude oil, which has fallen by approximately 17% since June, coinciding with the end of the refining season.

It is expected that the demand for gasoline will remain low, which may lead to further price reductions. Experts predict that prices could drop below $3 per gallon in the coming weeks, which would be a positive sign for drivers during the winter period.
