Barcelona to Face Chelsea in the Champions League
- Barcelona plans to make changes to the lineup ahead of the match against Chelsea
- Chelsea hopes to improve its chances of advancing to the playoffs
- Both teams have their weaknesses that could influence the game
The head coach of FC Barcelona Xavi Hernandez plans to introduce significant changes to the starting lineup before the match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League, which will take place on Tuesday.
Barcelona returned to winning ways after the international break, defeating Atlético 4-0. This victory allowed the team to close the gap on La Liga leaders by one point. Currently, in the Champions League, Barcelona is still outside the automatic qualification zone for the playoffs.
Xavi is set to change the lineup to adapt to a strong opponent. In the backline, again playing will be Joan Garcia, while in the central defense positions will be Ronald Araújo and Pau Kubo. In midfield, Eric Garcia will take the place next to Frenkie de Jong, and in attack, the key role will be played by Robert Lewandowski.
Chelsea, in turn, also aims to secure a win to enhance its chances of advancing to the next round of the Champions League. The team under the management of Enzo Maresca occupies 12th place in the group, but a victory over Barcelona could significantly improve their standings.
The London team won its last match against "Burnley" and has a solid chance of advancing, although earlier in the season they faced problems with stronger opponents.
Both teams have their weaknesses, and the match promises to be intense, with the possibility of goals from both sides. Barcelona is considered the favorite to win, but Chelsea also has its chances of success.
Currently, key players such as Pedri and Gavi will not be able to play due to injuries, which adds even more intrigue to the match.
