The Virginia police issued an arrest warrant for Trevis Turner, a 46-year-old coach from Union High School, in connection with the investigation into child pornography. Turner went missing on November 23, when his team was preparing for the playoffs.
The coach, who leads a team that should be in the playoffs, was not home when the police visited his residence with a warrant. During the visit, the police did not find Turner, and the details of the warrant remain unknown.
Virginia State Police confirmed that Turner is being investigated for five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of possession of child pornography on a computer used for the solicitation of minors. The police launched a search operation using service dogs and drones near his last known location in Appalachia.
Meanwhile, his team Union High School continues to compete in the playoffs, having won against Graham High School with a score of 12-0. The next match will take place on Saturday against Ridgeview, the winner of which will earn a spot in the state semifinals, scheduled for December 6.
Trevis's friends have turned to the community with a plea for his safe return, emphasizing that they do not know why he went missing. They have called for prayers for his return, stating that his family desperately needs him.
In the aftermath of these events, the administration of Wise County Public Schools confirmed that one of the staff members had been placed on administrative leave, but did not specify whether this was related to Turner.
