In Oxfordshire, a 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of illegal waste dumping in the area located near Kidlington. This case has become part of an investigation being carried out by the Environment Agency (EA) along with the South East Regional Crime Unit.

According to the information, the waste site, which measures approximately 150 meters long and 10 meters wide, was discovered in July, but the situation became critical, prompting the EA to declare a critical incident. Local residents and politicians expressed their outrage over the potential ecological consequences.

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, stated that all available resources will be utilized to address the illegal waste dumping. The EA reported that they have initiated operation "Nadia" for a detailed investigation of this incident.

At this moment, the agency is working on establishing additional barriers to prevent the pollution of the Cherwell River and is conducting an assessment of risks for the surrounding environment.

Continuing the investigation, the EA noted that the situation remains an active criminal site, thus the community is prohibited from accessing that area.
