Dan Driscoll, a 39-year-old Secretary of the U.S. Army, has become a central figure in the negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. He received this designation following the unexpected resignation of President Donald Trump, who urged him to initiate the peace process. Driscoll, known for his work with unmanned systems, previously had no experience in international diplomacy.

Driscoll's connection with Vice President J. D. Vance, his former classmate at Yale University, significantly influences his career. They both worked in the army and in the financial sector, where Driscoll built a reputation as a reliable partner.

After the details of a 28-point plan regarding peace between the U.S. and Russia were announced, Driscoll undertook an official visit to Ukraine to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky. This visit marked the first for senior Pentagon officials since Trump's election.

During the negotiations in Geneva, Driscoll, along with Secretary of State Mark Rubio, discussed key terms of the peace agreement with Ukrainian officials. After this, he also conducted negotiations with Russian officials in Abu Dhabi.
