Warner Music signs a deal with AI startup Suno

  • Warner Music has signed a deal with AI startup Suno
  • The Songkick platform has been transferred under the management of Suno
  • Artists from WMG will have control over the use of their works

This is reported by TechCrunch, The Verge.

On November 25, 2025, Warner Music Group (WMG) announced the signing of a deal with AI startup Suno, which allows the creation of music with the help of artificial intelligence. As part of the agreement, WMG resolved its lawsuit with Suno regarding copyright infringement. According to WMG, this partnership will enable the expansion of opportunities for creation, interaction, and the opening of music, as well as protect the interests of artists and composers.

As part of the agreement, WMG sold the platform for concert searches, Songkick, to Suno. Songkick will continue to exist as a resource for fans under the management of Suno. The partnership also includes the launch of new, licensed AI models, which will replace existing ones in 2026.

Artists under WMG management, such as Lady Gaga and Coldplay, will maintain full control over the use of their names, images, and musical works in new AI-generated compositions. WMG CEO Robert Kyncl noted that this agreement is an important step for the creative community.

It is worth noting that recently WMG also signed a deal with AI music startup Udio, which indicates a shift in the approach of the major music industry towards technology and artificial intelligence. Suno, in turn, announced a $250 million investment round and a valuation of $2.45 billion.
