Floods in Thailand caused significant damage to the southern region

After the heavy rains in southern Thailand, flooding began, leading to the declaration of a state of emergency in the province of Songkhla. This information was confirmed by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who noted that as a result of the flooding, at least 13 people died across four affected provinces.
As of Tuesday, the government of the region decided to create a special command center for coordinating rescue operations. They are also preparing to deploy a naval fleet with 14 boats and the aircraft "Chakri Naruebet," which can serve as a floating hospital. The fleet is ready to deliver aid and rescue teams to the affected areas.
The meteorological service of Thailand warned of further heavy rains and possible landslides, advising that small boats should remain ashore due to expected wave heights exceeding three meters.
Video from television channels showed rescue teams in the city of Hat Yai evacuating people from submerged homes, including the elderly and disabled individuals. The provincial administration reported that more than 1,200 people have been rescued from flooded homes. The Prime Minister announced additional boats and vehicles to support rescue operations.
According to official sources, floods affected nine provinces of Thailand and all states of neighboring Malaysia, where water levels reached two meters. In total, approximately 2.20 million people were affected as a result of the disaster.
