Tragic Death of Josaia Raisuqe

Josaia Raisuqe, an international player from Fiji and silver medalist at the Olympic Games, died in a road accident. His club, Castres Olympique, announced on Thursday that the tragedy occurred while he was on his way to training.

The athlete was 30 years old. According to French media, he was struck by a train at a railway crossing near the club's training center.

Castres expressed its sorrow, stating that the entire club family is shocked by this terrible news. Club president Pierre-Yves Revol described Raisuqe as "a pillar of the club" and extended condolences to the player's family and friends.

Raisuqe joined Castres in 2021, following stints at Stade Français and Nevers. He also participated in the Top 14 final in 2022 and won a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Paris last summer.

The match between Castres and Clermont Auvergne, scheduled for Saturday, may be postponed due to this tragedy.
