Key issues with AI summaries include the possibility of errors arising from AI "hallucinations." Editors noted that the information in such summaries could be unreliable, as Wikipedia is characterized by human verification of information.

In comments, editors described the idea of using AI as "horrible" and a "loud publicity stunt." They emphasized that article summaries already exist in their lead sections, which are created by humans, making the addition of AI unnecessary.
