Kilauea Volcano Eruption

Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii, one of the most active in the world, has started erupting again this week. Lava is rising to heights of over 330 feet (about 100 meters), creating stunning fountains.

This eruption is the 25th since the volcano began its activity on December 23. According to scientists from the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory U.S. Geological Survey, the eruption is likely to intensify, and the fountains may reach even greater heights.

Before the latest eruption, gas accumulation was observed, which occurred on Tuesday. This process, known as gas-piston effect, caused the rise of lava.

At the time of the eruption, gas is released in the form of splashes, and lava flows back into the vent. This process occurred up to 10 times an hour until a sustained eruption began at the crater floor.

All volcanic activities remain within the boundaries of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Park visitors are warned about potential dangers due to unstable crater walls, rockfalls, and ground cracks.

Additionally, the eruption is accompanied by increased emissions of sulfur dioxide and "Pele's hair"—glass fibers from the lava that can irritate the skin and eyes.
