German Defense Minister Visits Kyiv for Talks

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv to discuss the situation in Ukraine and further support for the country. During his visit, he plans to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Pistorius stated, "We will do everything possible to support Ukraine in its defense and to ensure that it is in a position where Russia is ready for serious negotiations."
Germany's Support for Ukraine
Throughout the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine, Germany has become one of Kyiv's key partners, providing extensive military, financial, and humanitarian aid. Berlin has supplied Ukraine with modern weapons, including IRIS-T air defense systems, Patriot missile systems, Leopard 2 tanks, armored vehicles, ammunition, and other military equipment.
Additionally, Germany supports Ukraine in economic and humanitarian areas. It actively advocates for Ukraine's membership in the EU.
At the latest meeting in Ramstein, Germany approved a new military aid package amounting to 5 billion euros (5.76 billion dollars), which includes:
funding for long-range weapons to be produced in Ukraine;
the transfer of air defense systems, weapons, and ammunition.
