U.S. Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has appointed eight new members to the committee responsible for vaccination recommendations, just days after dismissing all 17 previous members.

Kennedy, known for his skeptical views on vaccination, stated that the restoration of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) is "an important step towards restoring public trust in vaccines."

The new committee members, which include researchers and doctors, have committed to demanding clear data on the safety and efficacy of vaccines before any new recommendations are made.

Kennedy noted that the new members "are highly qualified" and "experienced professionals in the field of health care."

This move came after Kennedy dismissed the previous committee members, asserting that they had conflicts of interest. He emphasized that the new committee would be more independent, as the previous one had become, in his words, "just a formality" for approving vaccines.

Among the new members are individuals such as Dr. Robert Malone, who previously worked with mRNA technology, and Dr. Martin Kulldorff, who wrote an article about the harms of quarantine measures during the pandemic.
