Lewis Hamilton stated that he plans to stay in Formula 1 for several more seasons, despite the challenges faced by the Ferrari team. He commented on his disappointing performance at the Spanish Grand Prix, where he had to concede his position to teammate Charles Leclerc.
Before the Canadian Grand Prix, Hamilton noted that his main goal is to assist the team, particularly team principal Fred Vasseur. "I just started working with this team and want to stay here for the long term," he said.
Rumors About Vasseur's Dismissal
At the same time, rumors about the possible dismissal of Fred Vasseur have sparked outrage from Hamilton. "These rumors are not true. I support Fred; he is the main reason I am here," Hamilton stated.
The Ferrari team is currently trailing in the Constructors' Championship, with a deficit of 197 points behind McLaren. According to Hamilton, the situation within the team is not ideal, but he believes in the possibility of improvement.
Car Issues
Hamilton also shared his feelings after the Spanish Grand Prix, where his car was not functioning properly. He admitted that he felt the worst sensations of his entire career, but later learned about the technical issues that hindered his performance.
Vasseur has also received support from Carlos Sainz, who previously worked under his guidance at Ferrari. Sainz emphasized that the accusations against Vasseur are unfair and noted that the team is going through a tough period.
