NHL Winners Announced
On June 12, 2025, the NHL awards ceremony was held in Florida, where the winners of the Hart Trophy and the Vezina Trophy were announced. Connor Hellebuyck from Winnipeg Jets became the holder of both awards, marking only the sixth time in league history.
Hellebuyck, who also received the William Jennings Trophy for the fewest goals allowed, became the first goaltender to win the Jennings Trophy twice in a row. This season was impressive for him: he achieved 47 wins, the highest in the NHL, and had 8 shutouts.
Among the other Hart Trophy finalists were Leon Draisaitl from Edmonton Oilers and Nikita Kucherov from Tampa Bay Lightning. Draisaitl won the Rocket Richard Trophy for scoring 52 goals, while Kucherov received the Art Ross Trophy for accumulating 122 points in the season.
The awards ceremony was surprising for many, as most awards were announced without prior notice. Cale Makar from Colorado received the Norris Trophy as the best defenseman, Alexander Barkov from Florida won the Selke Trophy for best defensive play, and Spencer Carbery from Washington was awarded the Jack Adams Trophy as coach of the year.
Hellebuyck continues to impress in his career, as his 322 regular-season wins rank fifth among American goaltenders.
