On June 14, 2025, the FIFA Club World Cup will kick off in the USA, featuring 32 teams. The tournament will open at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, where Inter Miami CF will face Al Ahly.
This tournament, held under the auspices of FIFA, unites champions from various corners of the world. Although the Club World Cup has existed since 2000, this year's version is expanded and takes place in the USA a year before the 2026 World Cup.
However, despite high expectations, the tournament faces a number of challenges, including slow ticket sales and the presence of American security services at the matches. It has been noted that ticket sales for the group stage have not met expectations, and some sections of the stadiums have been closed due to insufficient demand.
Organizers hope interest in the tournament will grow over time, as tickets have already been sold from over 130 countries. FIFA President Gianni Infantino assured that the stadiums will be filled and the atmosphere will be historic.
Additionally, the Concacaf Gold Cup will also take place during the tournament, further complicating the situation, as two major football competitions will occur simultaneously in the USA. It is noted that among the participants of the FIFA Club World Cup are many well-known teams, such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester City.
Moreover, the tournament is accompanied by controversies regarding the match schedule, as many players are concerned about the excessive strain on their health. Critics point out that the schedule is already packed, and additional matches could harm the players.
At the same time, three teams from Major League Soccer (MLS) - Inter Miami, Seattle Sounders, and Los Angeles FC - are participating in the tournament, having the advantage of being in season. However, their chances of success remain in question due to the age of key players.
The tournament promises to be eventful and full of surprises, as well as attract the attention of fans from around the world.
