Oil Price Increase After Israeli Strikes
After Israel reported strikes on Iran, oil prices sharply rose. According to reports, Brent Crude prices increased by more than 10%, while West Texas Intermediate rose by 6%.
Traders are worried that the conflict between Iran and Israel could affect oil supplies from this energy-rich region. Approximately five percent of the world's oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz every day.
It has been noted that in the event of an escalation of the conflict, Iran could suspend supplies of up to 20 million barrels of oil per day by attacking infrastructure or restricting passage through the strait.
Experts believe that the market should monitor possible Iranian responses in the coming days, as the situation could either stabilize quickly or escalate into a larger war.
"This is an explosive situation that could be defused quickly, but it could also lead to serious consequences for oil supplies in the region," said analyst Saul Kavonik.
