Investigation into the Plane Crash
The Indian government has initiated an investigation following the Air India plane crash that occurred on June 12, 2025, in Ahmedabad. There were 242 people on board the flight heading to London, of which only one passenger survived.
Details of the Crash
The aircraft crashed in a residential area just minutes after takeoff, hitting a building that housed a medical college dormitory. Most of the bodies at the crash site were burned and unrecognizable.
Foreign Assistance
A team from the United States, consisting of specialists from the National Transportation Safety Board, the Federal Aviation Administration, Boeing, and General Electric, will arrive in India to assist with the investigation.
Condition of the Survivor
The surviving passenger, identified as Vishwaskumar Ramesh, was taken to the hospital for treatment. Doctors reported that he sustained multiple injuries, but his life is currently not in danger.
Government Response
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the crash site and the hospital where the injured are being treated. He expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and confirmed that the crash was a shocking event for the country.
Technical Details
The crashed Boeing 787 had been in operation for 12 years. The causes of the accident are currently being determined, and no news has yet been received regarding the black boxes.
