Appointment as New Tottenham Coach
Tottenham Hotspur has announced the appointment of Thomas Frank as the new head coach of the club. This decision was made following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou, despite the Australian winning the team's first trophy in 17 years by clinching the Europa League.
Contract Until 2028
Frank, who previously managed Brentford, signed a contract until 2028. During his seven years as head coach of Brentford, he helped the club establish itself in the Premier League, achieving promotion in 2021.
Challenges in the New Role
Tottenham, which finished last season in 17th place with 22 losses, will now compete in the Champions League. Frank has the opportunity to win his first major trophy in his career in his first match, when the team faces Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup on August 13 in Italy.
Transition from Brentford
Frank is leaving Brentford, where his achievements were considered significant, including a high league position and the development of talented players. Brentford's director of football, Phil Giles, expressed gratitude to Frank for his work, highlighting his impact on the club's development.
New Assistants and Collaboration with Tottenham
Along with Frank, his assistants from Brentford are joining Tottenham, as well as a new assistant from Manchester United. Frank also has experience working with Tottenham's technical director, Johan Lange, with whom he collaborated in Denmark.
Prospects in the New Role
Frank is known for his ability to use data to enhance the team's performance. His previous successes at Brentford, particularly in talent identification and subsequent sales, make him an attractive choice for Tottenham.
Minor Risks
Frank's appointment is a risky move for the club, as he lacks experience in the Champions League. However, Tottenham hopes that his approach and philosophy of play will help return the team to a winning path.
