The England cricket team has announced the return of left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone to the squad for the T20 series against India. Ecclestone missed previous matches due to a knee injury and a temporary break for recovery.
The 26-year-old athlete, who was absent during the victorious matches against the West Indies, announced a break in her career to improve her well-being after suffering a quadriceps injury. It is noted that her return comes after six consecutive victories for the team under the leadership of new head coach Charlotte Edwards.
There has been a change in the squad: Ecclestone has returned in place of Sarah Glenn, who is ranked fourth among the best T20 spinners. Edwards stated that the team is ready for a serious challenge, as India is one of the strongest teams in the world.
The series of matches will begin on June 28 at Trent Bridge Stadium. After the T20 series, the team will play three One Day Internationals, with the first scheduled for July 16.
