Returned Bodies of 1,200 Fallen Ukrainian Soldiers
- The return of 1,200 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers took place thanks to agreements reached in Istanbul.

The bodies of 1,200 deceased Ukrainian citizens have been returned to Ukraine, according to the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
According to the Russian side, the bodies belong to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel. The repatriation occurred in accordance with agreements reached in Istanbul. The bodies were returned thanks to the joint efforts of the Coordination Headquarters staff, the Special Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and other security and defense sector structures of Ukraine.
Law enforcement officials, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will conduct all necessary examinations and identify the returned bodies.
Important Details Regarding the Repatriation
The Coordination Headquarters also expressed gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their support and special thanks to the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who are transporting the returned bodies to specialized state institutions.
It is worth noting that this repatriation became possible after the second round of negotiations in Istanbul, where an agreement was reached on the exchange of the bodies of fallen soldiers. Under the agreements, the parties agreed to return approximately 6,000 bodies of deceased soldiers.
