Milner was unable to play many matches last season due to a thigh injury, appearing in only four games. Team coach Fabian Hurzeler expressed satisfaction with the midfielder's return, noting his significance for the team's young players.

In the final match of the season against Tottenham Hotspur, Milner came onto the field in the 93rd minute, marking his 638th appearance in the Premier League. Milner, who will celebrate his 40th birthday on January 4, 2026, intends to continue his career at Brighton to have a chance to become the oldest outfield player in Premier League history.

Throughout his career, Milner has played for Leeds United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Liverpool, winning numerous trophies, including the Champions League. He has also represented the England national team at two World Cups.
