- Sea Baby is a unique development that surpasses its counterparts in reliability and technological advancement.
This was reported by RBC Ukraine, Interfax Ukraine.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has handed over the unmanned maritime drone Sea Baby to the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II. This drone completed several missions, covering over 4,000 kilometers across the Black Sea.
Sea Baby participated in naval battles against Russian aviation in December 2024. During combat missions, the drone sustained significant damage but managed to return to base. Due to the damage, the drone can no longer be used for its intended purpose, which is why it was transferred to the museum for preservation.
The museum director, Yuriy Savchuk, noted that the new exhibit will be very popular among visitors. Sea Baby forced Russia to hide most of its military vessels in Novorossiysk and helped Ukraine unblock the "grain corridor." He is confident that visitors will want to touch a piece of modern history created by real heroes.
Features of the Sea Baby Drones
This drone is part of the fleet of maritime unmanned aerial vehicles of the SBU, which, during the full-scale invasion, struck 11 Russian ships and targeted the Crimean Bridge. Sea Baby belongs to the class of reusable drones that return to base after completing combat missions.
According to Brigadier General Ivan Lukashevich, Sea Baby drones are a unique development that surpasses all global counterparts in reliability and technological advancement. He stated that the drones perform a wide range of missions in the Black Sea—from remote mining to attacks on military targets.
According to the head of the SBU, thanks to the maritime drones, President Volodymyr Zelensky's task has been accomplished: Russia no longer dominates the waters of the Black Sea.
