Ayrton Costa Receives Visa to Participate in the Club World Cup
- Ayrton Costa has received a visa to participate in the international tournament in the USA.
- Previously, his visa application was rejected due to criminal cases in Argentina.
- The player will debut for his team against Benfica in Miami.
This was reported by ESPN, Marca.
Defender Boca Juniors Ayrton Costa has been granted permission to participate in the Club World Cup in the United States after U.S. immigration authorities reversed their decision regarding his visa. Earlier, in 2023, his visa application was rejected due to a criminal case in Argentina related to a robbery for which he accepted a conditional sentence.
An official club representative confirmed that Costa received a special visa valid for 26 days. This was made possible after three attempts by Boca Juniors to obtain entry clearance for the player.
Reasons for Visa Denial
Initially, Costa was unable to enter the USA because his visa application was denied due to two criminal cases in which he is involved. One of them relates to a robbery, where Costa is a friend of the criminals, and the other is linked to a murder for which his brother is accused.
Although neither case is progressing against Costa, U.S. immigration services had previously rejected his entry applications. Now, he will join his teammates and be ready for Boca Juniors' debut against the Portuguese team Benfica in Miami, scheduled for next Tuesday.
